Premises and Facilities

  • We manage the Interlink Community Resource Centre in Broughton, which provides 10,000 square feet of community space.  In London, we lease the top floor of 97 Stamford Hill from Agudas Israel, which provides a further 2000 square feet.

WITH THIS SPACE, WE OFER THE FOLLOWING FACILITIES FOR COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS:

  • Hire of training and meeting rooms at special rates for members
  •
  • Hot-desking and use of computers, free of charge to members
  •
  • Licensing of office-space for community organisations

Social Incubation

  • We act as an incubator for new projects that address critical needs in our communities.  Our goal is to support the development of these projects, enabling them to grow into strong, independent services.  Support may include mentoring, business planning, building governance, securing finance, recruiting staff and providing premises.
  •
  • We also develop special projects within Interlink's own management and governance, with a view to spinning them off in the future.  Currently, we are hosting the development of LinkEd, a support programme for Charedi schools (http://linkeduk.org.uk) and Chayim Aruchim, a faith-based advocacy initiative for patients facing end-of-life dilemmas in medical and care settings (https://chayimaruchim.wordpress.com).

Community Advocacy

  • We support community organisations to speak out on behalf of the people they serve and challenge inequalities.  This may mean arguing for change of policies, strategies and regulations.
  •
  • We will work together with organisations, community leaders and activists to promote  understanding of the Equalities Act 2010 and influence how the public sector meets the needs of members of the community.

Interlink Community Services C.I.C.

  • Through our subsidiary Community Interest Company, INTERLINK COMMUNITY SERVICES C.I.C., we bid for public sector contracts and grants on behalf of consortia of community organisations.
  •
  • For each potential contract, we create a consortium of our member organisations that are interested in the funding opportunity.
  •
  • Our existing contracts are worth about £250,000 per annum, delivered by over 20 member organisations.
  •
  • Community organisations interested in participating in new consortium opportunities should look out for information about these in our monthly mailings or e-bulletins.
